OpenIDEO Boston Chapter
In 2016, I assisted with the transition of the Chapter from a simple Meetup Group to an IDEO-sponsored design-thinking group. Through the Fall and Winter, I volunteered as a facilitator for local and international design thinking challenges. And in the Spring and Summer of 2017, with grant funding from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, we hosted the Chapter's first event series: Addressing Small-Format Plastic Waste Using Circular Design. |
C4 Innovations
At the time it was two organizations in one. I provided instructional design support to a variety of government-sponsored projects for health and human services, while coordinating efforts between a diverse team of graphic designers, videographers, and web developers. I also worked as the primary digital marketing assistant for the organization's for-profit training program. |
WorldTeach
To complete the practicum experience for the dual degree program at the Middlebury Institute, I partnered with a former classmate to create an ecosystem of digital marketing campaigns aimed at increasing both enrollment and alumni engagement. My digital marketing and social media analytics skills improved dramatically here, as well as my ability to support program development across multiple departments. |
The Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS)
Formerly the Monterey Institute of International Studies and forever known by the acronym MIIS. This is where my background in international education became a concentration in distanced education and digital literacy development. It was immersive, intensive, experiential, and above all, humbling. I earned an MPA degree and an MA of International Education Management degree. |
The Digital Learning Commons
I spent a year and half working to improve digital literacy and multimedia production on-campus as a Graduate Assistant. It bolstered my creative confidence and led me to develop some hard skills in instructional technology that have significantly influenced my career. |
Frontier Market Scouts
By learning from emergent leaders in the field, this program focused on how to operate in the field of impact investing and social enterprise development. Since this program, I've made it a long-term goal of mine to develop a social impact business. |
Design, Partnering, Management, and Innovation Program
I spent two weeks in the winter of my first year in graduate school with Partners in Health/Inshuti Mu Buzima in Kigali, Rwanda. The program focused primarily on how to create a localized healthcare development program, leveraging local insights and social marketing techniques. This has been my first and only time to the African continent. |
Drexel University
With its robust undergraduate-level, experiential learning program and bold motto, "Live It.", Drexel certainly changed everything for me. It was no longer just about letter grades and GPAs, but more about the mark that I would leave on everything. Here I learned about education systems, both domestic and international, as well as digital and experiential education systems. I earned a BA of International Area Studies, a Minor of Africana Studies, and a solid foundation in the Arabic Language. |
University of Jordan
This is where I studied the Arabic language and culture after 3 years of coursework. It strengthened my language skills, tested my ability to operate independently outside the U.S., and enhanced my cultural acuity. I went on to study Arabic for another year and a half at the graduate level. |
MicroSociety
This organization hosted my third and final co-operative learning experience via Drexel University. Here I began to cultivate basic skills in digital marketing for experiential learning programs. Here I was encouraged to take ownership of my own projects and genuinely share in the design and implementation of company. |
Citizen Diplomacy International Philadelphia
At the time it was called the International Visitor's Council of Philadelphia. This organization hosted my second co-operative learning experience via Drexel University. I learned the basics of program development, non-profit business, and how to appropriately facilitate international education for adult learners. |
Spells Writing Lab
This organization hosted my first co-operative learning experience via Drexel University. I spent 6 months here teaching reading and writing courses to children aged 4-12. They taught me that dedication is about more than just showing up on time. |
Office of Disability Services, Drexel University
This job taught me humility and focus. Though most of my daily grind required me to file paperwork, I learned to take notes for others and set them up with helpful learning aids like tutors and extra test-taking time. |
Bloomfield Public School System
Too restless to do nothing over the summer, I spent a few months taking care of the neighborhood's young people. Their ages ranged from 8-14. |
Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce
My first real job! This is the foundation of my work experience. It was about executing clerical tasks and being both present and reliable for client relationships. |
Westminster School
High School. Where (nearly) every child learns they're not the center of the universe. Here I learned to speak up for myself and others. Here I decided I would follow my own path and leave a trail. And that I really liked working with computers and technology. #MartletforLife |
Renbrook School
A truly formative experience. I spent 10 years here. Everything from how to be a team player to how to develop an independent research project was learned here. Above all, I learned how to learn, and I made it my life goal to help others discover this same principle. |
The Children's Museum
You made it to the beginning of my training! I hardly learned anything here on purpose - just how to build meaningful relationships and how to stay alive at a fast-paced game of tag. |
